Meet Felicity...
First and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS! You’re getting married! My heartfelt best wishes to you and your life partner! You have always envisioned a beautiful destination wedding, and you deserve that! But now, the post-engagement high is starting to give way to the exciting (and a little overwhelming) reality of planning the biggest day of your life.
This exciting time comes with some unanswered questions. Where do I start? Do I contact a Wedding Planner first? Maybe a Travel Agent? Do Wedding Planners coordinate destination weddings also? Which destination should I choose? On-resort or off-resort venue?
Many things to think about, so much to get done! Are you feeling a little overwhelmed? Well, don’t be – you are so in the right place. This is where I come in. Let me introduce myself…I’m Felicity! I would love to be by your side to help you handle all the details that go into planning your big day – even to the tiniest details!
I am a Certified Destination Wedding Planner & Wedding Designer through The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada. I am also a TICO Certified Travel Consultant with a Toronto-based Travel Agency. Not only do I assist clients with planning their dream destination weddings, but I also take care of all the necessary travel arrangements for the entire wedding group. So, travel bookings, check… wedding planning, double-check! It’s an absolute win-win for all destination wedding couples! Amazing, right?
Although my friendly personality is often the first thing that endears clients to me, it’s only one of the many qualities that I bring to the altar (altar – get it!) as a Destination Wedding Planner. An effortless planner with a natural creative flair and a keen eye for finer details, a well-respected Manager often said, “Felicity is a great planner and leader who does not know how to firefight as she leaves nothing to chance.” Be rest assured that no detail will be overlooked with me on your side!

I handle all the stress so the entire destination wedding planning process can be as stress-free as possible for you. Whether you want to have your ceremony on a tropical beach or your reception in a quaint, locally owned restaurant, your dreams are valid, and I will make it a reality.
Throughout my successful career, I was continually recognized as a dedicated and fearless leader with exceptional interpersonal skills and strong organizational abilities in Hotel Management and Human Resources Management. The opportunity to work with people of diverse backgrounds has truly taught me to anticipate each client’s needs and wants with utmost confidence, understanding and empathy. This experience has also equipped me with the skills to successfully organize all the wedding details by effectively communicating with vendors worldwide.

Professionally and personally, I have flawlessly executed many events, conferences, banquets, meetings and parties, including my own wedding, while working long, gruelling hours in a highly demanding job (a story for another day ). Over and over again, people around me would request help to plan and design their events and parties. I was always more than happy to do it. This led me to follow my heart, take a leap of faith and pursue a new career that I love…one that embodies my life’s passions of travelling, planning, organizing and helping others. Coupled with my impeccable work ethic and values, this is how Tie The Knot Destination Weddings came about.
When planning a wedding, budget management is one of the most crucial steps to consider. As your planner, your budget, be it big or small, I will help you maximize your costs while maintaining high-quality results. Bending over backwards and leaving no stone unturned is an easy feat for me to make your destination wedding dreams come to life. My many years of experience managing successful hotels’ finances have prepared me for a lifetime career of helping couples reduce wedding expenses when necessary.
From the moment you say “Yes!” to “I Do,” my job is to make you feel relaxed as I walk you through every step of the way.
I only take a minimal number of destination weddings to ensure that each couple receives personalized service and the high level of attention they deserve. Fun Facts About Me
- Dislike most things cold: weather, coffee, weather, food, weather, showers – did I mention the weather?
- Have a very unhealthy collection of Oprah Winfrey publications
- I travelled across the globe to Goa, India, to complete my college co-op education program at a resort for three months
- Use an excessive amount of ellipsis (…) when sending messages …
- Enjoy renting apartments in countries that I travel to – living among the locals and immersing myself in their culture has been my most memorable vacations.
- I re-organize and re-design family/friend’s homes for fun – yes, all for pure enjoyment!
- Loves to cook and tweak my recipes several times until I have them perfected, right down to the exact measurement of salt needed
- “Honestly” is the most used word in my vocabulary
- Always blast my R&B music as if I live on a deserted island
- I have travelled to the Dominican Republic over 25 times but am still unable to form a full sentence in Spanish (Gracias to Google translate)
- Belonged to the pre-opening management team of two brand new Marriott hotels – from walking in with a hardhat & steel-toed boots to welcoming our first guests on opening day, a truly challenging yet rewarding career achievement
- I am that “person” at the checkout line who will let you go ahead of me if you have fewer items than me
- Believes that everything in life should have a specific place – you should see my closets!
- DIY type of gal – I create and hand-craft all my seasonal indoor/outdoor décor, party invites, centrepieces, cake toppers, and other decors
- The tendency to speak loudly, and no … I am not yelling – I promise!
- One guilty pleasure includes any reality TV show with the words “Real” & “Housewives” in the title … hey, don’t judge!
- I can finally admit to the fact that I, Felicity, am a perfectionist.
